Trust the "Expert" Curt Cavin - Take a Ride!

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Dec. 10, 2009) – Race fans and IZOD IndyCar Series followers have common online outlets to keep up to date on all things IndyCar. Daily routines consist of checking indycar.com and brickyard.com for the latest on the IZOD IndyCar Series and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, respectively, as well as keeping up to date with the Indianapolis Star's Curt Cavin. In the Dec. 10 edition of Cavin's "Ask the Expert," Cavin mentions in a response that he wishes "every Indy 500 fan had the opportunity to take a ride in the (Indy Racing Experience) two-seater."

The "answer" was in response to a comment John from Zionsville, Ind., made about his past 2-seater ride at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The entire excerpt from the Dec. 10 "Ask the Expert" Q&A follows:

Question: Having been around Indy in the two-seater, Jim Beam car, Jeret Schroeder and I were rocketing thru Turn Four like stink the last time around. Jeret came off of four, steered toward the pit entrance, hit the binders, down-shifting smartly all in one motion. We rolled down pit lane at about 60-70 mph to a smooth stop at the entrance to Gasoline Alley. These drivers know what they are doing. It's amazing, by the way, how smooooth the track is. I don't remember even feeling the "Yard Of Bricks." (John, Zionsville, Ind.)

Answer: No question about that. I wish every Indy 500 fan had the opportunity to take a ride in the two-seater. Not only is it cool to be on the track, the ride itself is a thrill. You just can't imagine that the car will stick in the corners even at that "reduced" speed.
